Being Intentional in Forming Relationships

I WANT TO HAVE GOOD RELATIONSHIPS, BUT HOW DO I DO IT?

Even if we are around people every day, many of us feel a sense of isolation and loneliness. Instead, we can become intentional about building connection with others and with God. We do that by thinking less about ourselves and reaching out to start the process.    

How can you have less loneliness and more connection?

Let Go of SELF to Develop Connection 

We experience a breakthrough when we realize life is not all about us, because a fixation on ourselves leads to pride and loneliness. You are designed to live in community and have a personal relationship with God, and a good start is to reach out to others and pray every day.   

Have Real Relationships with People

Relationships require an investment of energy, but in return we develop friends and have people we are close to. You can move toward connection in any conversation by listening with empathy and being more vulnerable to connect with more people more deeply. 

Get Help from Others and Resources

No matter what we are going through, there are people who can encourage us and provide support, and there are useful resources to help us live life better. When you are hurting, one of the best things you can do is reach out and get help as early as possible.
