Taking Steps on a journey of
spiritual growth

Seeing the roadmap for a spiritual journey to peace, joy, and purpose

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

Key Points

  • Spiritual growth is a journey, not a checklist.

  • God loves you as you are, but he invites you to grow closer to him.
  • Small, consistent steps create lasting change.

next right steps

  • Set aside 10 minutes this week to talk to God as a friend.

  • Reflect on where you are spiritually: curious, cautious, growing, or searching.
  • Write down one next step you’d like to take to learn more about God.

life application questions

1. When you think about spiritual growth, what comes to mind?

step 1

what is your worldview

Developing a Positive Perspective on Life by embracing what's important

Your worldview is how you see life, purpose, and truth. This section helps you reflect on what you believe and invites you to consider God’s perspective.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2

key points

  • God invites us to renew our minds to see from his perspective.
  • Spiritual growth begins by asking honest questions.

Next right steps

  • Spend 15 minutes journaling your beliefs about God and life.
  • Discuss with a friend how their worldview shapes their choices.
  • Identify one belief you’d like to explore more deeply.

life application questions

Step 2

finding our role in the larger story

Finding our purpose and identity in something bigger than ourselves.

We are each part of God’s greater story of hope, redemption, and purpose. When we understand our role, life takes on deeper meaning and direction.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

Key Points

  • You were created intentionally and with purpose.
  • God invites you into his bigger story of restoration.
  • Fulfillment comes from seeking God’s plan, not just our own.

 next right steps

  • List three passions or gifts God has given you and one way to use them this week.
  • Pray: “God, show me my place in your story today.”
  • Reflect on how shifting from ‘my plan’ to ‘God’s plan’ impacts your choices.

 life application Questions

Discovering what life is really all about as an exciting personal journey.

We all long for meaning and purpose, but ultimate fulfillment comes from knowing God. This section explores what it means to live for something bigger than ourselves.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Key Points

  • God designed us for relationship, purpose, and impact.
  • Lasting fulfillment comes from knowing and walking with God.
  • The search for meaning points us toward eternity.

  • Choose one meaningful action you’ll take this week to bless someone else.

THINKING ABOUT GOD

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

 Key Points

  • God invites us to pause and reflect on who he is.
  • Spiritual growth begins with curiosity and openness.
  • Stillness helps us sense God’s presence in everyday life.

Next right steps

  • Take 5 minutes today to sit quietly with no distractions.
  • Keep a journal of moments when you sense God at work.
  • Ask a friend to discuss one spiritual question together.

life application Questions

Step 7

How to Avoid Thinking About God

Making an important choice on what we think—or don’t think—about.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5

Key Points

  • Avoiding God is common, but it doesn’t change his love for you.
  • Doubt and questions are normal — God welcomes honesty.
  • Small steps toward God open the door to deeper connection.

  • Write down one reason you sometimes avoid spiritual reflection.
  • Share an honest question with someone you trust.
  • Take one small step toward God this week, like a short prayer.

Key Points

  • Spiritual growth happens through everyday actions.
  • Faith deepens when we practice what we believe.

Step 10

How to Find God

Finding our way—and God—on a personal journey of spiritual growth.

God invites us into a personal relationship with him. Finding him isn’t about rules or rituals — it’s about seeking him with an open heart.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

2. What’s one barrier that keeps you from seeking him fully?

3. What next step are you ready to take in your spiritual journey today?

Step 11

The Parable of the Poker Player

Being More intentional About How we Choose to Play the Game of Life.

Life can feel like a high-stakes poker game. Every day, we’re dealt situations, challenges, and opportunities we didn’t choose. Are we playing it safe, bluffing our way through, chasing more “chips,” or are we willing to go all in with God — trusting him with the outcome?

“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.”  Deuteronomy 4:29

Key Points

  • Life, like poker, involves risk — but we can trust God, the one who holds the cards.
  • Playing it safe can cause us to miss God’s best; real growth requires faith.
  • Going “all in” with God is never a gamble — surrender leads to lasting victory.

Next Right Steps

  • Identify one area of your life where you’ve been holding back from trusting God fully.
  • Take one bold step of faith this week. Obey God even when you can’t see the full outcome.
  • Spend five minutes in prayer today. Ask God to help you give it all to him.

Life Application Questions

1. Which type of “poker player” from the article best describes you right now? Why?

2. What “hidden cards” in your life are causing you to hesitate?

3. What would it look like for you to go “all in” with God and give it to him?

Step 12

Doesn't That Change Everything?

Facing a fork in the road and taking a step that changes our lives forever.

Life is full of moments when we reach a fork in the road, and the choice we make can change everything. For many of us, one of the biggest questions we will ever face is: If God is real doesn’t that change everything? The answer: Yes, it does.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Key Points

  • The right questions about God, purpose, and truth leads us to life-changing answers.
  • Discovering who God is and what he offers shifts our perspective and gives hope.
  • If God’s love, forgiveness, and purpose are real, it changes everything about how we live.

Next Right Steps

  • Set aside intentional time this week to ask God your biggest questions about life and faith.
  • Read one passage of Scripture each day and write down one insight it gives you about God.

Life Application Questions

1. What big questions about life, faith, or God are you currently wrestling with?
