“CHAINS” is an acronym that represents “Compulsive Habits, Addictions, Idols, and Negative Self-Talk”

For some, our CHAINS may be smoking, drinking, or pills. Often, it’s anxiety, depression, or loneliness. For others, it’s spending, eating, or the internet. Maybe it’s a compulsive habit like control, perfectionism, anger, or workaholism.

We all have things we keep doing even though they have negative consequences, and it’s hard to stop. But we can prevent these issues, and we can break the CHAINS!

STEPS considers Behavioral Health as being made up of  integrated, holistic areas that lead us toward emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and personal wellness.
